Rentt finally sets out for his home village of Hathara with Lorraine. On the way, they encounter a horde of zombies and meet Hilde, the Gold-class adventurer tasked with destroying the undead. An accomplished mystic, she sees that Rentt has divinity and offers to teach him to better conceal it. He accepts, and in the process, feels the presence of a soul that has been watching over him throughout his career.
